Chiefs HC Andy Reid ties Chuck Noll for sixth-most wins in NFL history

The Kansas City Chiefs’ win over the Oakland Raiders thrust the team to 2-0 on the season and alone atop the AFC West leaderboard.

The win also helped their head coach further rise up the ranks of the NFL’s all-time coaching leaderboard. Last season, Andy Reid passed Marty Schottenheimer for the seventh-most wins in NFL history, including postseason. Today, Reid tied legendary Steelers coach Chuck Noll for sixth place, with 209.

Reid is one of only two active NFL coaches in the top 10, along with the New England Patriots’ Bill Belichick.

Here’s a look at how the all-time wins list currently stacks up:

  1. Don Shula – 347
  2. George Halas – 324
  3. Bill Belichick – 294
  4. Tom Landry – 270
  5. Curly Lambeau – 229
  6. Andy Reid, Chuck Noll – 209

Sixth place is as far as Reid will ascend on this list for the 2019 season. However, Reid could pass Lambeau next season.

Reid already carries a resume with Hall of Fame consistency. The only thing that he’s missing is a Super Bowl win, and that’s what the Chiefs are grinding for this year. With a little luck, perhaps the Chiefs could help Reid put one on his resume by the end of the 2019 season.
