Chiefs release limited-edition Anthony Sherman T-shirt benefiting Veterans Community Project

Kansas City Chiefs fullback Anthony Sherman and the Chiefs equipment staff are joining forces with the Veterans Community Project to do some good in Kansas City.

On Wednesday, the Instagram account for the Chiefs equipment department posted a video of the creation of a T-shirt featuring the likeness of Sherman. The design from the shirt comes from Sherman’s infamous 2018 training camp outfit that was quite patriotic.

The shirt was originally to be a one-off specifically made for Sherman, but after a discussion, they realized fan interest was high. They decided it would be great to sell the shirts with proceeds going to a veterans charity.

That’s where VCP Kansas City comes in. Here’s a little background on them:

“Veterans Community Project – Kansas City was founded by a group of combat veterans who grew tired of seeing their brothers and sisters get left behind by a broken system. Instead of lamenting coverage gaps in the veteran service system, they set out to fill those gaps.”

They’ve done a ton of good for the Kansas City community. They created a Veterans Outreach Center, which provides a ton of resources for veterans in need. They also founded what is called the VCP Village, which is a community of tiny houses designed to get homeless veterans living in permanent housing.

Here’s a look at the design for the shirt:

What all started as a funny moment on Instagram is turning into a great way to help out the veterans community in Kansas City.
