Chiefs favored in Week 4 road game vs. Lions

The Kansas City Chiefs (3-0) will face off against the Detroit Lions (2-0-1) at Ford Field for Week 4 of the 2019 season.

This will be the fourth undefeated opponent the Chiefs have faced this season. They’ve handed each of their other undefeated opponents losses and only one of those games has come in the Chiefs’ home stadium. As for the Lions, they tied the Cardinals in overtime in their Week 1 contest, but they’ve yet to lose a game since.

The oddsmakers in Vegas aren’t quite ready to bet against the Chiefs and have them as opening favorites against the Lions.

According to BetMGM, the Chiefs are 6.5-point favorites heading into Sunday’s road match with the Lions. The opening money line is at -295 for the Chiefs and +230 for the Lions. The opening over/under point total currently rests at 53.5 points.

Keep in mind the Chiefs are still expected to be without both LT Eric Fisher and WR Tyreek Hill. They also could potentially be without RB Damien Williams for another week as he deals with a knee contusion.

Typically, when teams are missing so many starters on offense it’d impact whether they’re favored, especially when they’re playing on the road. It doesn’t seem to move the money for the Chiefs. That just goes to show you exactly how much Vegas believes in QB Patrick Mahomes and his ability to lead this team to victory.
