Chiefs favored in home opener against Ravens

The Kansas City Chiefs (2-0) are slated to meet the Baltimore Ravens (2-0) on the gridiron at Arrowhead Stadium in Week 3.

It’s a battle between two of the most impressive offenses to start the season for the Chiefs’ home opener. Patrick Mahomes has picked up where he’s left off after an MVP 2018 season and Lamar Jackson looks to have improved as a passer from his rookie campaign. The Chiefs also boast an improved defensive unit coached by Steve Spagnuolo and the Ravens have even done some retooling on the defensive side of the ball.

All things considered, the Chiefs are the favorites of oddsmakers in Las Vegas for Week 3.

According to BetMGM, the Chiefs are 6.5-point favorites heading into this matchup. The opening money line is at -304 for the Chiefs and +240 for the Ravens. The opening over/under point total currently rests at 55.5 points.

Keep in mind that this all with the Chiefs’ star WR Tyreek Hill unlikely to play and starting left tackle Eric Fisher dealing with a groin injury. That just goes to show that Vegas isn’t willing to bet against Mahomes after his scorching hot start to the 2019 season.

Also, the Arrowhead advantage was proven to be very real in the previous season. The only home loss during 2018’s regular-season by the Chiefs was against the Los Angeles Chargers on a flukey 2-point conversion play. The money says that the advantage will continue into the 2019 season and beyond.
