Chiefs fans photographed sitting in front row at Broncos training camp

A pair of Kansas City Chiefs fans have been spotted behind enemy lines.

The Denver Broncos began their training camp earlier this week as they prepare for the upcoming Hall of Fame game. While out at practice this morning, Broncos team photographer Gabriel Christus captured a shot of a pair of Chiefs fans.

Both fans are wearing Chiefs jerseys and hats and sitting right in the front row on the grass hill at Broncos training camp. It’s a bold move to show up at any teams training camp as a fan of another team. But for a Chiefs fan to show up to an AFC West rival’s training camp, that is what we call a power move.

The Athletic’s Broncos reporter Nicki Jhabvala, shared the photo on Twitter.

Some fans have indicated that those photographed might be friends or family of Broncos rookie quarterback Drew Lock. Lock attended the University of Missouri and is from Colombia, Missouri. Naturally, Lock grew up as a fan of the Chiefs. It’s entirely possible that his friends and family would show up to support him, but wouldn’t put aside their fandom.

Whatever the case, hopefully these fans take note of what goes on during team drills and relay that information back to Chiefs HQ. Perhaps they’ll also occupy the head space of all the Broncos fans and players out at training camp. It’ll serve as a nice reminder of who has owned the AFC West for the past three seasons.
