Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Frank Clark is doing something incredible for a family in mourning.
According to KSHB-TV news reporter McKenzie Nelson, Clark intends to cover funeral costs for LeGend Taliferro, a 4-year-old boy who was killed as he slept on Monday after someone fired shots into an apartment. Taliferro’s funeral is set for July 10.
Clark also intends to honor Taliferro in the Chiefs’ Week 1 matchup against the Houston Texans, wearing a jersey that features his name. On Thursday, Clark took to Twitter to denounce gun violence and call for the Kansas City community to support Taliffero’s mother, Charron Powell, during this difficult time.
The Kansas City Police Department has yet to make any arrests in the death of Taliferro. They are still looking for information on a suspect vehicle spotted leaving the area, and ask that anyone with information on the vehicle or shooting call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477.
