Chiefs, Chris Jones agree on massive four-year contract

(Denny Medley-USA TODAY Sports)

Man, Kansas City is investing a lot of money into two players, but one is Patrick Mahomes and the latest Chief to land a huge contract extension is another star, Chris Jones.

The Chiefs and Jones have agreed to a four-year, $85 contract, with $60 million guaranteed.

The Chiefs placed a non-exclusive franchise tag on Jones in March. July 15th is the deadline for teams to sign franchise-tagged players to a long-term contract.

This deal will make Jones, who was set to make $16.1 for the 2020 season, the second-highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history behind Aaron Donald of the Los Angeles Rams.
