Chiefs cancel Day 5 of open training camp practice due to inclement weather

The Kansas City Chiefs have been forced indoors due to inclement weather.

Unfortunately that also means they’ve canceled their open practice session today. The Chiefs do not allow fans to follow them when they practice in the indoor facilities at Missouri Western State, mainly due to size limitations of the indoor practice facility.

They do allow media access inside of the indoor facility, but they don’t allow any sort of live reporting from their indoor practices. So you’ll have to wait to get your training camp updates until after practice.

Weather doesn’t always force the team to move indoors, as last season they practiced during a rain storm. The difference here is that this storm was accompanied by thunder and lightning which forced the team to shut things down and move inside.

It is possible that they move back outdoors, but considering this is already a short day of practice, it’s likely that they stay inside for the remainder of practice.

This is the last training camp practice before a scheduled off day on Thursday, August 1. The Chiefs are set to resume practice on Friday, August 2. That is, of course, if the weather permits it.
