Chiefs announce behind-the-scenes TV series ‘The Franchise’

Move over, “Hard Knocks.”

The Kansas City Chiefs have announced their own television series, giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at the team during the 2019 offseason.

The series, titled “The Franchise,” was revealed via a trailer released on the Chiefs’ social media pages on Tuesday evening. The trailer previews everything from exclusive interviews to behind-the-scenes looks during offseason training activities.

The Chiefs production team turned out some phenomenal content during the 2018 season, but it’ll certainly be curious to see the types of things they’ll be allowed to reveal. Is it truly “all-access,” as the announcement tweet suggests? Check out the trailer below:

“You’re four inches away from the Super Bowl,” Andy Reid says in the trailer. “How do you take it up another notch? Are you willing to give up a bit to make yourself a better football team?”

I don’t know about you, Chiefs Kingdom, but that line gives me goosebumps.

Here is the official description of the first episode, titled “Be Great,” via the Chiefs’ YouTube page:

Go behind the scenes of the team in the first installment of ‘The Franchise.’ Head Coach Andy Reid recaps the 2018 season, we travel to Orlando with the Chiefs Pro Bowlers, go inside a film session with General Manager Brett Veach, and welcome in new additions to The Kingdom.

“The Franchise” premieres today at 6 p.m. CT. It’s not yet clear how many episodes the series will feature, but according to a recent press release it will run for the length of the 2019 season. You can stream the premiere on the Chiefs’ official website, YouTube and Facebook Watch. It’ll also be broadcast on Fox Sports Kansas City and Fox Sports Midwest.
