Chiefs announce preseason broadcast teams for 2022

The Kansas City Chiefs have officially announced their broadcasting team for the 2022 NFL preseason, which will add a new face this year as a sideline reporter. Ari Wolfe, Trent Green and Matt McMullen will be joined by sideline reporter Kimmi Chex, who is an on-air host for NFL Media and a Kansas City, Missouri native.

Here is a quick look at the crew via the team’s official press release:

“Chiefs Preseason Television will feature NFL Network anchor Ari Wolfe as the play-by-play announcer for the third season in 2022. Former Pro Bowl quarterback and NFL on CBS analyst Trent Green returns to the booth for his 12th season as the preseason crew’s color commentator. Joining Wolfe and Green for her first year as sideline reporter for the Chiefs Preseason Television team is Kimmi Chex, a Kansas City, Missouri, native and on-air host and personality for NFL Media. Chiefs Senior Reporter Matt McMullen is entering his second season delivering sideline features and reports for the preseason broadcasts. Produced by 65 Toss Power Trap Productions, all three of the club’s preseason games will air locally on KSHB.”

The team also announced that Mitch Holthus will return as the play-by-play and Danan Hughes will return as the color commentator for the Chiefs Radio Network on 106.5 FM The Wolf. This is the third consecutive season that this particular team will be returning and the 29th season for Holthus as “Voice of the Chiefs.” He’ll call his 473rd career game when Kansas City faces the Chicago Bears in preseason Week 1.

“Chiefs Kingdom has become accustomed to having top talent leading both the club’s preseason TV broadcasts as well as the Chiefs Radio Network, and we’re happy to continue that trend this year,” Chiefs Vice President of Content and Production Rob Alberino said. “Fans will continue to enjoy familiar faces and voices as part of both broadcast teams, and we’re thrilled to bring a national television personality who happens to be a Kansas City native into the fold this year as well.”
