Chief Nottingham Forest scout continues to track highly-rated Marseille prospect - report

Nottingham Forest's European head of recruitment José Anigo is returning to a familiar hunting ground as the club continue to track a prospect.

According to a report by L'Equipe ( Via Sport Witness) it is claimed that following the signing of Nuno Da Costa from Strasbourg, Anigo is happy to continue scouting French talent for the club.

The player of continued interest is reportedly Jorès Rahou, a seventeen-year-old playmaker who is currently the talk of Marseille's academy. La Provence - a newspaper local to the area - state that both Forest and Bayer Leverkusen are still keeping a close eye on the situation after discussions regarding the player in 2019.

It was reported last year that Rahou was of interest to Forest and that has very much continued into the new year.

La Provence said the Rahou has "had discussions" with the Reds' head of international recruitment,  Jose Anigo, while Bundesliga clubs Red Bull Leipzig and Leverkusen had both "made enquiries" about the youngster.

Rahou, who has made two appearances for Marseille's reserve side, is said to be under contract at the French club until 2021.

Rahou has been with Marseille since the age of seven, progressing through the ranks and spent some of pre-season training with the first team squad.

La Provence were also told that the player's priority ahead of gaining a first professional deal was to 'stay at Marseille if there is a project for him.'

Therefore, any deal Forest make will need to be an attractive one - but Marseille need to keep their own eye on the player. If he does not sign a deal with the team, he'll be free to leave in June.

You can see what month might be marked in Anigo's calender.
