Jan. 22--There's a profanity for every 20 words in Chief Keef's lyrics, making the controversial Chicago rapper one of the most profane artists among the 361 musicians studied by lyrics site Musixmatch.
Chief Keef, who was born Keith Cozart, uses swear words more frequently in his lyrics than the other artists included in the Musixmatch study released this week but Southern rapper Lil Wayne has the highest number of swear words in his lyrics. A Chief Keef rep did not immediately comment.
The site scanned the lyrics from 3,573 studio albums of the most Googled artists in the hip-hop, heavy metal, electronic, pop, indie rock, rock, folk and country genres for swear words.
Hip-hop artists were found to have the highest count of swear words and the highest frequency of swear words. Country is the least profane genre, Musixmatch found.
The site studied 62 tracks from four Chief Keef albums. His most frequent swear words were a derogatory term for women, a synonym for excrement and a racial slur. Dr. Dre, N.W.A., ASAP Rocky and Young Thug rounded out the top five.
Lil Wayne topped the list of the most swear words in his lyrics--3,960 profanities among 210 tracks from 12 albums. The late rapper Tupac Shakur, Snoop Dogg, Busta Rhymes and T.I. were also tops.
Chief Keef, 20, released "Finally Rollin 2" and "Nobody Part 2" last year, which prompted the rapper's label FilmOn TV to sue his management team for interfering with his contract.
The lawsuit came after a troubled summer for Chief Keef, whose attempts to hold a benefit concert by hologram were thwarted in Chicago and Indiana.
