Chicester Street Belfast: Fire Service unit monitoring building amid safety concerns

Fire Service specialists are monitoring a building in Belfast city centre amid concerns over its safety.

The NIFRS sent three crews to the scene at Chicester Street after getting a call about a “possible structural collapse”.

A specialist rescue team is at the scene and using laser stability monitors to assess how safe the building is.

It is understood one person was removed from the building before the arrival of the Fire Service. They are understood to have suffered minor injuries in a fall and were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.

It is understood the incident occurred at an old building not far from City Hall on the right hand side of the street if heading towards the law courts.
