May 13--North Korean boss Kim Jong Un had his defense minister executed by anti-aircraft gun for, among other crimes, falling asleep at a Kim-led meeting, according to South Korean intelligence. Yet another senseless victim of PowerPoint presentations.

Searchers still scouring the ocean for Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 have discovered remains of an uncharted shipwreck about 2.5 miles underwater. Who knows? If they keep at it, maybe they'll find the solution to our pension crises in Illinois and Chicago.

At 5 a.m., the Obamas accepted Chicago's gift of public parkland for their foundation and presidential library. By 5 p.m., Moody's downgraded the city's bond rating to junk status. Probably no connection, but maybe we shouldn't be giving away real estate.
