May 17--Ike Barinholtz, the "Mindy Project" writer, producer and co-star, has been cast in the new as-yet-untitled Amy Schumer-Goldie Hawn comedy, set to begin filming next month.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "the comedy will be Schumer's first since her breakout hit 'Trainwreck' and is an action-comedy in the vein of Paul Feig's 'The Heat.' It centers on a mother-daughter duo trapped in a vacation gone wrong."

Barinholtz will play Schumer's brother.

A Chicago native and former "MadTV" cast member, Barinholtz is a veteran of the city's sketch and improv scene (performing at iO Theater and the Annoyance, and ushering at Second City). I profiled him a few years back, just before "The Mindy Project" debuted. You can read that story here.

He can be seen next in the comedy "Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising," which opens Friday.
