April 20--Tracy Letts is in negotiations to star opposite Debra Winger in a new film from A24 called "The Lovers," about a married couple whose relationship has soured, both having turned to lovers outside the marriage.
"However, when they sit down to call it quits, they find themselves suddenly, unexpectedly and even awkwardly falling back in love again," according to the description on Deadline.com.
A Chicago-based actor and playwright, Letts won a Tony and Pulitzer for his 2007 play "August: Osage County."

His latest play, "Mary Page Marlowe," is in a production with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company through the end of May and co-stars his wife, actress Carrie Coon. It received a top rating of 4 stars from Tribune critic Chris Jones, who called the play "deeply moving."
Letts is equally accomplished as an actor, winning a Tony award in 2013 for his performance as George in the Broadway revival of "Whose Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" He's also been showing up in small roles in films such as "The Big Short" and, more recently, "Elvis Nixon" (see Tribune critic Michael Phillips' review here.)
