Aug. 23--An auto mechanic comes out to his straight drinking buddies in the comedy "Fourth Man Out," which is the opening night selection for Reeling, Chicago's LGBTQ film festival, which runs Sept. 17-24.

"Fourth Man Out" star Evan Todd and co-star Kate Flannery will be at the screening, which takes place at the Music Box. (Flannery, who is best known as Meredith on "The Office," is a former Chicagoan and an alum of the Annoyance Theater.)

Other titles in the festival's official selection include:

--"Freeheld": Based on a true story, Oscar-winner Julianne Moore stars as a police lieutenant with a terminal illness battling to ensure that her pension benefits pass on to her partner (Ellen Page) after her death. Michael Shannon, Steve Carell and Josh Charles co-star.

--"From This Day Forward": A documentary about director Sharon Stattuck's family and her transgendered parent, who transitioned from male to female when Sharon was in middle school. In the film, the family reunites for Sharon's wedding, offering a look at how her parents' marriage endured through the changes.

--"Hush Up Sweet Charlotte": A cross-dressing camp parody of the 1964 thriller "Hush ... Hush, Sweet Charlotte" starring Bette Davis and Olivia de Haviland from director Bill Clift (the creative force behind the earlier Davis spoof "Baby Jane?").

--"Portrait of a Serial Monogamist": A romantic comedy set within Toronto's lesbian social scene, "Portrait" features a young woman newly enjoying the single life but beginning to regret breaking up with her girlfriend.

--"Stonewall": The days and weeks leading up to the Stonewall riots in 1969 are recreated in this new period piece from director Roland Emmerich (best known for "Independence Day" and "White House Down").
