Jan. 16--A pair of Second City alums might have a shot at scoring a show on Comedy Central.

The cable network, Deadline reports, is making a TV pilot called "Detroiters" created by and starring Sam Richardson and Tim Robinson as "two local ad men who make low-budget commercials in Detroit."The show is executive produced by "Saturday Night Live's" Lorne Michaels and Jason Sudeikis, who is a veteran of Chicago's sketch comedy scene himself.

The "Saturday Night Live" link makes sense; Robinson was a cast member on the show briefly before being shifting to the writing staff. Richardson has appeared in small roles in Sudeikis films, including "We're the Millers" and "Horrible Bosses 2," though he has been more visible in a recurring role (that continues into this upcoming season) as an ineffectual low-level staffer on HBO's "Veep."

Richardson and Robinson have a solid history as collaborators. Four years ago the pair were co-stars in the lauded 2011 Second City mainstage revue "South Side of Heaven."
