March 17--Filmmaker Spike Lee is one of the boldface names coming to town for this year's Chicago International Movies Music Festival, better known as CIMMfest.

"An Evening of Music, Film Wine with Spike Lee" is scheduled for April 18 at City Winery Chicago. Befitting the venue, the conversation will be accompanied by a wine pairing. "Admission includes six wines specially chosen and paired with Lee's films," per the press release.

Lee is expected to talk about his career trajectory, from his first feature-length film "She's Gotta Have It" from 1986 (in which he debuted his fast-talking Mars Blackmon character) to his most recent movie, the Kickstarter-funded 2014 revenge thriller "Da Sweet Blood of Jesus."

CIMMfest runs April 16-19 and among the live shows scheduled is an appearance by singer Lisa Fischer (featured in the documentary "Twenty Feet From Stardom," about backup singers) for two shows at Thalia Hall.

The Spike Lee is event is free for those who buy a four-day festival pass (at $110). Individual tickets to the event range from $55-$75 and are available through the City Winery box office.
