March 02--The Arlington Heights Post is back, and we couldn't be more excited about it.
On April 4, 1996, Pioneer Press published the very first edition of this community newspaper, which went on to enjoy a good 13-year run.
Here we are today, approaching the 20th anniversary of the founding of this newspaper, and Pioneer Press is expanding again with the launch of the new Arlington Heights Post.
It's a great honor and privilege to have this second chance to serve you, to earn your trust and business.
Arlington Heights is a community that deserves committed local journalism: to inform and entertain you, and to hold your public officials accountable. To help you navigate your daily lives, to fuel conversation and to break news. In essence, to capture the Arlington Heights experience.
We know it will take hard work, and that you have options when it comes to news. But you can count on us to be your go-to source for quality news and information about your community. Whether a public meeting of importance to the future of the community or a family-oriented weekend festival, we will be there.
But we want you to feel ownership in your community newspaper equal to our own. We want to hear from you when you have questions, opinions or photos from your local fish fry or middle school science fair. Online and in print, we want to feature your stories and photos when we aren't there to capture them ourselves. We also want your letters to the editor.
Thanks for giving us another chance in Arlington Heights. I love talking with readers, so please don't hesitate to get in touch. You can check us out online at ArlingtonHeightsPost.com, and you can reach me directly at 312-222-3331 or at jputerbaugh@tribpub.com.
Here's to a new beginning in Arlington Heights. We're glad to be back.
