Chicago transit worker stabbed when he's used as human shield during fight at train station, police say

CHICAGO _ A Chicago Transit Authority worker was stabbed in the chest when a fight broke out at the Roosevelt station on the Red Line early Friday, according to Chicago police.

The worker was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was stabilized, police said.

Around 2 a.m., two men and a woman were chasing a man on the station platform when the man ran behind the CTA worker, using him as a shield, police said. There was a struggle and the worker was stabbed in the chest and abdomen.

The attackers fled and no one was reported in custody.

The worker was taken to the hospital by another employee.
