Chicago’s Alinea, the tony eatery from Grant Achatz, has been named to the 37th spot on the list of 50 best restaurants in the world, it was announced Tuesday.
The reveal was made in Singapore, where the show’s host, Australian journalist Annabel Crabb, descrived Alinea as “a staple of this list and a reference in the global food scene,” according to eater.com.
France’s Mirazur, helmed by chef Mauro Colagreco, was ranked No. 1 in the world.
Alinea ranked 34th on last year’s list, and its highest ranking was the No. 6 spot in 2011.
The Lincoln Park restaurant is also Chicago’s only eatery to receive the coveted three Michelin stars.
