Chicago Pizza Summit to take a deep dive into the cheesy treat

This weekend’s Chicago Pizza Summit offers fans a chance to sample slices from a dozen or so kitchens and wash it down with pizza-inspired spirits.

In its new location at the Theater on the Lake, 2401 N. Lake Shore Dr., the fourth annual event will supplement the dining with two alcoholic experiments: a pizza daiquiri by mixologist Dustin Drankiewicz of the Swill Inn in River West, and pepperoni-infused vodka from Deep Eddy in Austin, Texas.

Also on offer will be pizza-inspired merch and art and an exhibit from the U.S. Pizza Museum. Local rapper Showyousuck will host.

Visitors can choose from two sessions this Sunday: 2-5 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. The $45 admission fee covers unlimited pizza, three beer tickets and a commemorative plate. For tickets, go to do312.com/chicagopizzasummit.
