Cook County board president Toni Preckwinkle announced this morning some added parking lot closures for weekends (Friday-Sunday) at high traffic preserves.
Many preserves and lakes remain open.
Here are the new closures:
Parking lots at Bunker Hill, Busse Woods, Catherine Chevalier Woods, LaBagh Woods, Maple Lake, Pulaski Woods, Saganashkee Slough and Wolf Road Woods are closed on weekends (Friday – Sunday) through May 31.
Existing closures include these:
Parking lots at Arie Crown Forest, Black Partridge Woods, Busse Forest Elk Pasture, Caldwell Woods and Dan Ryan Woods-South are closed through May 31.
The Swallow Cliff Stairs and parking lots at Swallow Cliff Woods-North, Swallow Cliff Woods-South, Cherry Hill Woods and Teason’s Woods are closed to visitors through May 31.
The spring trout season opening day—originally scheduled for April 4—is postponed indefinitely. The parking lots and fishing lakes at Axehead Lake, Belleau Lake, Green Lake Woods, Horsetail Lake, and Sag Quarries are closed indefinitely, starting March 30. Parking lots at Chippewa Woods and Iroquois Woods are closed as well.
