'Chicago Justice' to begin with trial for police-involved shooting

April 28--"Chicago Justice," the fourth installment in Dick Wolf's NBC franchise set in Chicago, will begin with a trial stemming from a police-involved shooting, Entertainment Weekly reports.

The "Chicago Justice" cast is slated to be introduced in the May 11 episode of "Chicago P.D." Officer Kim Burgess (played by Marina Squerciati) is on trial after shooting a man she believes shot her partner, Sean Roman (Brian Geraghty).

"They get ambushed essentially," "Chicago P.D." co-creator Matt Olmstead told EW. "Roman is severely injured and Burgess pursues the shooter, thus setting off a chain of events where there's a little bit of a doubt whether she got the right guy."
