Englewood firehouse dog ‘Burny’ found safe after going missing

Burny the Firehouse Dog | Chicago Fire Department

A dog that lives at the Englewood firehouse was found safe Saturday after the Chicago Fire Department reported him missing.

“Burny” the firehouse dog was found “safe and sound” about 6 p.m. Saturday, fire officials said. He had gone missing about the same time Friday from the Engine 84 station, 21 W. 59th St.

We received many calls from that area and Burny was located safe and sound. Thank Twitter and all of the media outlets for getting the word out about Burny. We are greatful. Thanks again.

The black Lab is 7-years-old and has lived at the Engine 84 firehouse his whole life, officials said, noting that the “missing firehouse brother” was a reliable morale booster and stress reliever at the station.
