Chicago Bears Trade Justin Fields To Pittsburgh Steelers

The Chicago Bears have made a significant move by trading quarterback Justin Fields to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The trade, which was reported by NFL Network, involves Chicago receiving a conditional 2025 pick in return for Fields.

This trade indicates that the Bears are likely to draft a quarterback with the No. 1 overall pick in the upcoming draft, with USC's Caleb Williams being a potential target.

Fields, who was drafted 11th overall by the Bears in 2021, struggled to meet expectations during his time in Chicago. Despite showing flashes of talent with both his passing and running abilities, Fields did not progress as a passer as hoped by the team's management.

Fields' departure comes after the Steelers signed veteran quarterback Russell Wilson to a one-year deal, positioning Fields to serve as Wilson's backup in Pittsburgh.

Chicago's decision to trade Fields follows their recent acquisition of wide receiver Keenan Allen from the Los Angeles Chargers, marking the team's continued efforts to reshape their roster.

The Bears have also been active in trading draft picks, having previously dealt their No. 1 pick in 2023 to the Carolina Panthers for DJ Moore. This move ultimately led to Chicago obtaining the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft.

With the trade of Fields and the potential selection of a new quarterback, the Bears are signaling a new direction for their franchise as they look to build for the future.
