The Bears got starting quarterback Mitch Trubisky back on the practice field Monday, but coach Matt Nagy gave no indication whether it’ll be him or Chase Daniel against the Saints on Sunday.
“He was out there today, but his situation is, for us, seeing exactly where he’s at with pain — all of his collaborating to see where he is to see if he’s ready to go for this week,” Nagy said.
Trubisky has been out since falling on his left arm early in the Sept. 29 game against the Vikings and injuring his shoulder. ESPN reported he suffered a dislocation and a slight labrum tear, though Nagy has never given a concrete answer on the injury.
Nagy didn’t say how many passes Trubisky made Monday, but noted it was his first time throwing since the injury.
Daniel finished the Vikings game, a 16-6 win, and completed 22 of 30 passes for 195 yards and a touchdown with no turnovers.
He started the following week against the Raiders in London and was inconsistent. He had 231 yards and two touchdowns, but also threw two interceptions — including one late in the game that squandered a chance to tie it. The Bears lost 24-21.
