The Chicago Bears kept their playoff hopes alive with a 33-27 victory over the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium.
The Bears (7-7) have won back-to-back games for the first time since Oct. 8 and 18 to stay in the playoff hunt behind the Arizona Cardinals (7-6), who play the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday afternoon.
Bears kicker Cairo Santos made four field goals, including a 42-yarder with 56 seconds to play to give the Bears a six-point lead. He also made from 42, 35 and 48 yards to bring his streak to 22 straight made field goals. It’s the longest Bears streak since Robbie Gould made 24 straight field goals in 2006.
The Bears then withstood a last-minute Vikings drive, with Sherrick McManis intercepting quarterback Kirk Cousins’ Hail Mary pass in the end zone as time expired.
The Bears punted on their first drive of the game and then scored on six straight drives. Quarterback Mitch Trubisky threw an interception to Vikings cornerback Cameron Dantzler in the end zone on the seventh drive, but the Bears defense came up with a big stop on fourth down.
Bears running back David Montgomery rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns on 32 carries. Trubisky completed 15 of 21 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown pass to Darnell Mooney.
Vikings running back Dalvin Cook had 24 carries for 132 yards, and Cousins completed 24 of 35 passes for 271 yards and two touchdowns.
