CHICAGO _ The Chicago Bears defense held off a last-minute drive by an opponent for the second straight week to secure a 17-13 victory over the New York Giants on Sunday afternoon at Soldier Field.
Daniel Jones' pass from the 10-yard line to Golden Tate as time expired fell incomplete, and Tate was subsequently called for offensive pass interference.
The Bears led by 17 points at halftime. The Giants slowly chipped away at the lead but ran out of time to complete the comeback. The Bears, who held off the Lions in the end zone in Week 1, improved to 2-0 for the first time since 2013, when they started 3-0.

Bears kicker Cairo Santos missed a 50-yard field-goal attempt with 2:02 to play, missing a chance for the Bears to go up by a touchdown. Santos' kick dropped wide left, and the Giants took over at their own 40-yard line trailing 17-13.
Before the missed field goal, the Bears went for it on fourth-and-2, and quarterback Mitch Trubisky's pass, which was intended for Jimmy Graham, was deflected and popped into the air. Right tackle Bobby Massie grabbed it for a 4-yard catch to keep the drive alive.
