Chicago Bears get dealt a reality check with a 24-10 loss to the Los Angeles Rams

The Chicago Bears entered Monday night's game against the Los Angeles Rams with their share of doubters about their legitimacy, and they no doubt will leave California with even more after a 24-10 loss on national television.

The Bears offense didn't find the end zone, and they trailed by 21 before safety Eddie Jackson scored on a fumble return with 7 minutes, 35 seconds to play.

The Bears squandered several opportunities at a comeback after the Rams led 10-3 at halftime.

Quarterback Nick Foles threw two interceptions, the first when Troy Hill broke up a pass intended for Darnell Mooney late in the third quarter. Taylor Rapp intercepted it in the end zone to end the scoring threat.

Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey had the second pick late in the fourth quarter on a pass intended for Jimmy Graham as the Bears tried to keep their comeback hopes alive.

On the Bears' previous drive, Justin Hollins sacked Foles for an 8-yard loss on fourth-and-goal from the 4, and the Bears turned the ball over on downs.

Foles completed 28 of 40 passes for 261 yards with no touchdowns and the two interceptions. He was sacked four times, once by former Bears outside linebacker Leonard Floyd.

Jackson's sixth career defensive touchdown — after two previous scores this season were called back because of penalties — on Robert Quinn's forced fumble was one of the few highlights for the Bears. Roy Robertson-Harris also blocked Rams kicker Samuel Sloman's 48-yard field-goal attempt early in the fourth quarter.

But those plays weren't nearly enough for the Bears to prove they are a playoff-caliber team as they dropped to 5-2.

The Rams were the first team to score more than 20 points against the Bears defense since the Falcons scored 26 in Week 3. They rushed for 166 yards, led by Darrell Henderson's 64 yards on 15 carries.

Rams quarterback Jared Goff completed 23 of 33 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns.

Bears center Cody Whitehair left the game with a calf injury and didn't return, and wide receiver Allen Robinson was evaluated for a concussion late in the game.
