Chicago Bears Final Roster: Here’s who’s been cut so far

The Chicago Bears and GM Ryan Pace are in the midst of cutting the roster from 90 to 53 players, and must do so by Saturday’s 4:00 p.m. EST deadline.

So far, 12 players have been informed they haven’t made the team. They are:

WR Tanner Gentry
WR Marvin Hall
TE Ian Bunting
OL Marquez Tucker
OL Joe Lowery
NT Daryle Banfield
DE Jalen Dalton
ILB Jameer Thurman
OLB Matt Betts
OLB Chuck Harris
CB Doyin Jibowu
S Clifton Duck

The most surprising name from this list is Hall, who appeared to play well enough in training camp and the preseason to earn the seventh WR spot. His departure suggests Pace will use that roster spot at a different position, perhaps tight end or running back.

One player who isn’t on the roster bubble is K Eddy Pineiro, who by all accounts has secured the starting job for Week 1 against the Packers.

We’ll continue updating the Bears’ final roster as more transactions are announced.
