July 16--"Madame Pompadour": If you enjoyed Chicago Folks Operetta's previous productions of tuneful Viennese stage confections by Leo Fall, you're bound to like its take on "Madame Pompadour" (1922), a show considered to be the Austrian composer's masterpiece. The operetta launches the troupe's 10th anniversary season, sporting a new English translation by Gerald Frantzen and Hersh Glagov, conducting by Anthony Barrese and stage direction by Amy Hutchison.
