Chiang Mai hosts 'Beauty & The Beast'

The Australian Teachers of Dancing and the ATOD Children & Youth Development Association are staging a charity performance of "Beauty & the Beast 2019" at Kad Theatre of Kad Suan Kaew shopping center in Chiang Mai on Sunday at noon and 3.30pm.

The main principal cast features foreign and Thai ballet dancers who have won first, second and third prizes as well as gold and silver medals, from international dance competitions in Australia, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines. Many of them have also performed in Japan, Dubai and Singapore.

Performers are Sasipim Wattanachet, Khemruthai Chaiwipassatorn, Pakkhaporn Eiamtap, Paopanga and Nalinpun Karunnaraporn, Teenutcha Phisoot, Sirada Jaruwattanakul, Natlita Tuanrat, Timarin Wing Holmes, Noppanica Sripatarapong, Piyawat Muninthorn, Naphaswan Pratummes, Shan Del Vecchio from Singapore Dance Theatre and Chanakarn Panpijit from Bangkok City Ballet.

The cast list includes honorary actors Ongkarn Chai-ongkarn and Chusana Bhichaisongkram, with more than 200 dance students from Chiang Mai Ballet Academy as supporting dancers. Acting as artistic director for this charity performance will be ML Preeyapun Sridhavat.

Tickets cost 300, 500, 800 and 1,000 baht (special group rates for students are available) including door prizes from Thai Airways International. Prizes will be awarded to the audience members with the most colourful outfits.

Tickets are available at the information counter of Kad Suan Kaew, the ATOD Children & Youth Development Association and Chiang Mai Ballet Academy. Proceeds will go to support orphan students at Chalermprakiat 48th Pansa School under the patronage of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
