Chhindwara tops in ranking of govt schools, Bhopal 35th

BHOPAL: Madhya Pradesh government on Friday released the first ever ranking of districts based on academic performance of government schools from class 1 to 8 for the session 2021-22.

Chhindwara topped the list securing Grade A with a score of 77.76 out of 100. Small towns made in big in the rankings while the big cities in the state fared poorly. Releasing the report on the on the education portal of state education center, Dhanaraju S director of center said a report about the performance of government schools from class 9 to 12 will also be released soon. Balaghat bagged the second place followed by Neemuch. Bhopal is placed at 35th.

Bhopal: Small towns of Madhya Pradesh outsmarted the metro cities in the ranking of districts based on academic performance of government schools from class 1 to 8 for the session 2021-22. Chhindwara has topped the list securing Grade A with a score of 77.76 out of 100, followed by Balaghat and Neemuch.

Bhopal district made it to 35th rank among 52, while Indore was placed at 23.

As per the ranking, Sehore, Narsinghpur, Damoh, Betul, Shajapur, Shahdol and Morena have got ranks in this sequence. Ratlam has been ranked 50th with Grade D in the ranking system, Guna at 51st place and Alirajpur district was at the last position.

The state education centre issued the provisional rankings following instructions of CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan to develop a ranking system for government schools and display them in the CM Dashboard. School, students, teachers and management work have been the main parameters to decide ranking of districts. Corrective suggestions and objections will be received from all district collectors. Based on the suggestions and objections received from the districts and after making necessary amendments, the ranking of the districts will be finally determined and displayed on the CM Dashboard.

Director, state education centre, Dhanaraju S said on the lines of elementary education, the ranking of districts will be issued for class 9 to 12 also. For this, grading parameters are being developed by DPI. Based on these two rankings, the consolidated ranking of the education department will be assessed, he added.
