Chhattisgarh high court to hear suspended ADGP’s plea on July 15

RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh high court is all set to hear on July 15 the writ petition filed by suspended Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) GP Singh praying for an inquiry by the CBI into the sedition and other cases registered against him by the state police.

Singh, 1994 batch IPS officer had moved the high court a day after the Raipur police registered an FIR against him on the charges of sedition under IPC section 124A and 153A IPC for promoting enmity. The IPS officer had also sought an interim relief of stay on the cases against him besides praying for a CBI inquiry into the allegations against him claiming that action against him was ‘prejudiced’.

The petition is expected to come up for hearing on July 15. The state govt has already filed a caveat in the HC.
