RAIPUR: Two days after a group of youths belonging to scheduled tribe and schedule caste performed streaking on the Vidhan Sabha Road in Chhattisgarh’s capital Raipur demanding action into fake certificate case, the state government has directed the department heads to take action against employees who have obtained government jobs on the basis of ST/SC fake certificates.
Chief secretary Amitabh Jain held a crucial meeting with officers from 16 departments at the Vidhan Sabha on Thursday to address the issue and has ordered the immediate dismissal of those employees who secured their government jobs through fraudulent caste certificates.
The protest, which took place on Vidhan Sabha Road on the first day of the monsoon session of the Assembly on Tuesday, left the state authorities in dismay. The protesters demanded strict action against those individuals who have been unlawfully enjoying government jobs by using fake caste certificates.
During the meeting with departmental officers, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain enquired about the actions taken so far to combat this issue. He further emphasized the urgency of resolving pending cases related to fraudulent caste certificates. The Chief Secretary has directed all departments to expedite the hearings of such cases that are pending in court.
The government's decision to dismiss employees who were found guilty of using fake caste certificates is seen as a significant step towards maintaining the integrity of the reservation system and ensuring that deserving candidates from SC/ST backgrounds rightfully benefit from affirmative action policies.
