RAIPUR: Ahead of school reopening, around 600 officers will directly inspect 5,000 schools to check if Covid safety arrangements are in place.
The state government has announced reopening of schools for class 10th and 12th students from August 2.
Each officer will inspect at least five schools including one Swami Atmanand Government English Medium School and one each primary, middle, high and higher secondary school.
School education secretary Dr Kamalpreet Singh has issued instructions to all the divisional joint directors and district education officers in this regard. He has asked the officer to ensure implementation of important schemes including distribution of free of cost textbooks, uniforms, and mid-day meals. The officers have been directed to send the report before July 30 after inspection, supervision, monitoring for necessary guidance.
As many as 28 state-level officers, five joint directors, 10 deputy directors (divisional joint director's office), 58 assistant directors (DEO's Office), 29 officers of Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, 148 development block education officers and 296 ABEOs and district education officers have been directed to inspect the preparation in remote schools of the state in the form of a campaign.
Besides, Singh has directed the officers concerned to ensure compliance of the instructions given in the video conferencing held on July 27 regarding guidelines issued by the state government for commencement of offline classes in the state. As per the instructions issued, it has been directed that during the inspection in the schools, the officers will ensure the implementation of all the schemes run by the department and will also give necessary clarifications as per the requirement.
