Gordon Elliott is under investigation by the Irish Racing Regulatory Board
(Picture: Getty Images)Leading owner Cheveley Park Stud have announced they will move all of their horses currently in training with Gordon Elliott, including the unbeaten star Envoi Allen, to new yards.
Elliott is under investigation by the Irish Racing Regulatory Board (IHRB) after a photo emerged showing him sat on a dead horse, while the British Racing Authority (BHA) have banned the trainer’s horses from running under its jurisdiction while the investigation takes place.
The BHA ruling gave owners the option of moving their horses to other trainers to allow them to compete in Britain, with the Cheltenham Festival now just two weeks away.
Envoi Allen, already a dual Cheltenham winner and favourite for the Marsh Novices’ Chase, will be moved to the yard of Henry De Bromhead, along with Triumph Hurdle hopeful Quilixios and Supreme Novices’ Hurdle contender Ballyadam.
Cheveley Park already have a number of horses in the De Bromhead yard, most notably former Festival winner A Plus Tard.
Meanwhile, unbeaten bumper horse Sir Gerhard will be moved to Elliott’s main rival in Ireland, champion trainer Willie Mullins.
Mullins and Cheveley Park teamed up to win the Champion Bumper at Cheltenham last year with Ferny Hollow.
