Chester Zoo virtual tour live returns on Good Friday with lions and penguin chicks

Chester Zoo is bringing back its popular live cam for another virtual tour, so people can see what the animals are up to from the comfort of their own home.

Since the UK was put on lockdown due the coronavirus pandemic, the north west zoo has been streaming inside some of its enclosures.

With children now being home schooled the virtual experience has proved hugely popular and today it returns for a third week.

Chester Zoo is currently closed to visitors, to help stop the spread of coronavirus, but of course its residents still need daily care.

Once again today, people can watch as zoo keepers feed the animals, including lions, komodo dragons and new for this week, adorable fluffy penguin chicks.

Posting on its Facebook page, Chester Zoo said: “You asked for a THIRD virtual live zoo day, so… We’re throwing open our ‘virtual gates’ once again to turn your Good Friday into a GREAT Friday!”

The zoo will be going live on Facebook and Youtube from 10am. The running order for the day will be:

  • 10:00 - 10:20 - Tree kangaroos
  • 11:00 - 11:20 - Asiatic lions
  • 12:00 - 12:20 - Komodo dragons (the world’s largest lizards)
  • 13:00 - 13:20 - Lemurs of Madagascar
  • 14:00 - 14:20 - Mr Parson’s the chameleon (star of The Secret Life of the Zoo)
  • 15:00 - 15:20 - NEW penguin chicks
