Chester Zoo is hiring a bird keeper to care for its parrots and penguins

Chester Zoo has an opportunity to join its team as a keeper of several bird species including parrots and penguins. The zoo – situated around 40 miles from Manchester – is the most visited in the UK, welcoming 2m people through its gates every year, according to its website.

It describes itself as a “modern [and] progressive zoo,” with its staff “on a mission to make Chester Zoo the best in the world, and our planet a better place.” It boasts more than 20,000 animals across its 128 acres of zoological gardens, as well as more than 1,000 staff that keep it running.

Chester Zoo currently has a range of job opportunities posted on its website, including the position of Lead Keeper on one of its large and varied bird sections. So, if you fancy yourself as a bit of a Doctor Dolittle, or a real-life Mister Popper, then this job could be for you.
