
A MAN has been flown to hospital with serious chest injuries after a crash in Cessnock.
Paramedics responded to a two-vehicle crash about 8.30am, calling in the Westpac rescue helicopter.
Initial reports from the scene indicated that occupants of the vehicle were trapped while suffering serious injuries.
A Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service spokesman said the critical care medical team arrived and began treating an 82-year-old man with serious chest injuries.
The 82-year-old was extracted from the wreckage and flown to the John Hunter Hospital.
