Cheshire tech firm Lokulus reveals ambitious £3m growth plans with new office move and recruitment drive

A North West tech firm has today announced ambitious growth plans including committing £3m to the future of the business over the next two years with a new office move and recruitment drive.

Alderley Edge-based Lokulus creates digital customer service solutions using AI and machine learning to automate lower-skilled tasks, and works with clients such as Matalan, Capita, Serco and Leeds Building Society.

The 19-year-old Cheshire business, which was formerly known as Numero until undergoing a management buyout in June 2019, has recently moved its headquarters to the Glasshouse at Alderley Park, a £30m project aimed at digital and tech companies which forms part of Bruntwood SciTech’s 400-acre park, which boasts 1.5m sq ft of office space.

As well as an office move and increasing the workforce by 20%, the team is also about to launch its first product since the buy out: Pulse, which is aimed at small and medium sized businesses.

Lokulus said that with record numbers of customer service teams working from home, as well as a surge in ecommerce sales, its products have never been more relevant, with brands and businesses looking to make life more efficient for both their employees and customers and enhance their digital offering.

CEO Mark Chamberlain said: “The past year has enabled us to really cement the foundations of the business and plan for the future and now it’s our time to accelerate.

"In this strange time, we’re fortunate that our technology is hugely relevant for businesses who are wanting to enhance the online customer journey and we’re looking forward to what the future brings.

"With a new product to launch and a number of innovations in the pipeline, it’s an exciting time for Lokulus.”

After years of creating solutions for clients, over the last six months, Lokulus has engineered a Saas (software as a service) based product for businesses who are looking to enhance both their digital customer engagement capabilities and enable remote working for their customer service teams.

Alister Harris, CFO, added: “Our team has been central to our success so it has been imperative to us that we offer them a stand out location to work from, and Alderley Park is just that.

"Whilst Covid has initially delayed our ability to take advantage of our new environment, we are confident that the space will be a place for innovation and collaboration for a long time to come.”
