Cheshire Police officer from Liverpool guilty of harassment after posting image online of a woman without her consent

A Cheshire Police officer from Liverpool was found guilty of harassment.

Alan Friday, from Hunts Cross, was convicted on Monday at Wigan and Leigh Magistrates Court.

The 42-year-old PC was suspended from his policing duties earlier this year after being charged, following a Merseyside Police investigation.

It is understood Friday was a member of Cheshire Police's dog handling unit.

Friday was charged after he posted an image of his victim without her consent and "repeatedly" emailed and telephoned her.

He also was found to have attended his victim's sister's home repeatedly.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police told the ECHO : "We are aware of the outcome of the case involving Alan Friday, who has been convicted of harassment.

"This relates to an investigation by Merseyside Police.

"At this stage it would be inappropriate for us to comment further due ongoing misconduct proceedings.

"Friday remains suspended from duty at the current time."
