Cheshire COP26 police help Edinburgh swan get safely back to loch in Holyrood Park

Cheshire Police supporting Police Scotland as part of COP26 in Glasgow took on the very important task of escorting a swan safely back to a loch near Arthur's Seat.

The officers found Sally the swan dazed after she flew into a lamppost nearby and helped the confused bird back to her home at St Margaret's Loch.

Police in the Capital saw the funny side and shared the sweet story to social media with a nod to the iconic Edgar Wright comedy Hot Fuzz.

Edinburgh Police shared the heartwarming pictures of the English police force standing proudly with the saved swan following the rescue captioned: “Our colleagues from @cheshirepolice helped Sally the Swan in #HolyroodPark today.

“Sally was left dazed after crash landing into a lamppost. The #HotFuzz reacted quickly & helped Sally get safely back to St Margaret’s Loch & she's looking fine.”

The humorous events are similar to the famous scene in the film where two officers played by Simon Pegg and Nick Frost pursue an escaped swan through the picturesque fictional village of Sandford.
