It was her first time onstage at a festival since her son Bear, 4, was born - and Cheryl came out all sequins shining. Opting for a screaming pink sequinned outfit with daring nude panels and a scraped back up do - the 38-year-old was ready to impress.

The intentional gestures begin the styling here, with the wide padded shoulders, covered neck and the emphatically winged and slightly scary under-eye make-up design all suggesting Cheryl wants to be see as super-dominant and in control as a solo artist.
Her posture and her gestures reflect that idea of dominance and power too.
Her chin is pulled in for a lot of these poses, as though she wants to give the impression of physical strength. The dimpled, more girlish smile looks way more fleeting and the ‘serious face’ look is promoted the most.
It does seem to reflect or mimic the seriously sexy look of stars like J-Lo and that choreographed flying hair thing does look like another nod in the same direction.
It’s the hands and the legs that really do the most work here, though. Her hands are balled into fists as they get held up in the air and to say her legs are akimbo is an understatement.
This wide legs splay falls into the ‘gusset-ripping’ level of statement signals that suggests power, strength and a strong sense of independence.
