Cheryl wants 'help' from with ex Liam Payne to boost her music career

Cheryl is said to be after a 'reunion' with former boyfriend Liam Payne to get her music career back on track.

The Geordie singer has tasted plenty of success with her solo material away from Girls Aloud, with her debut single Fight For This Love selling more than a million and her also entering at number 1 with Promise This, Call My Name, Crazy Stupid Love and I Don't Care, as well as having a triple platinum chart-topping album with 3 Words.

However, her last two single Love Made Me Do It and Let You failed to set the charts alight.

But 37-year-old Cheryl is said to be ready to give music another crack and, according to the latest issue of Closer, is keen to enlist ex One Direction star Liam, who she has son Bear with, to help.

A source told the magazine: "Cheryl and Liam worked on a few ideas together, but the songs never saw the light of day. She has a demo of them singing together and has suggested to Liam that perhaps it would be fun to let fans hear it.

“Cheryl’s really eager for them to either release something officially or leak the duet, as she thinks it would have a big impact and give her a leg up in her quest to top the charts again."

Cheryl is said to be of the opinion that a collaboration with Liam would spark plenty of interest but, now happily engaged to new beau Maya Henry, it is reported that he thinks "the moment has passed for them to release a duet.

Producer Jonas Blue that revealed his single Polaroid was originally meant to be a duet between Liam and Cheryl but, when it was released at the end of 2017, it was the vocals Canadian singer Lennon Stella that featured on the track alongside Liam's.

Like Cheryl, Liam has had considerable success on his own with singles like Strip That Down, Familiar and Rita Ora duet For You.
