Cheryl tipped for Strictly Come Dancing after Greatest Dancer is axed

Cheryl has been linked with a stint on Strictly Come Dancing this year after her show The Greatest Dancer was pulled by the BBC.

It was revealed on Tuesday evening that the axe had fallen on the talent show after just two series, with viewing figures for the second run peaking at only 3.2 million viewers week on week, significantly lower than ITV rival The Masked Singer, which has been confirmed for a second run.

But if speculation is to be believed, Cheryl might soon be putting her dancing shoes back on to take a spin in the Strictly ballroom as a contestant.

Bookie Ladbrokes have switched up the odds to 4/1 for Cheryl to have a crack at the Glitterball Trophy.

A spokesperson for the bookmakers said that Cheryl could well be about to become the second the Girls Aloud lot by compete on Strictly, following on from Kimberley Walsh who reached the final in 2012, narrowly missing out to winning couple Louis Smith and Flavia Cacace.

Cheryl stunned as her music video is used as coronavirus warning

Cheryl has seen her name linked to Strictly for a few years now, but could this be the year she finally signs on the dotted line?

She is no stranger to the dancefloor, with her being a member of Girls Aloud and, winning a place at the Royal Ballet's summer school as a child.

Other names linked to Strictly 2020, which is, of course, still in some doubt due to coronavirus, include Stacey Solomon and Michelle Keegan.
