Cheryl smiles at rehearsals as brother Andrew claims he's living in a tent

Cheryl put on a brave face amid reports her brother is living in poverty as she prepares for an upcoming live performance.

The 38-year-old chart topping star is living a polar opposite life to her 41-year-old brother Andrew – who is living on the streets and begging for loose change.

Cheryl is due to perform a headline slot at the Mighty Hoopla festival in London on Saturday where she will sing and dance for a 25,000 sold out crowd.

Chez looked in good spirits when she was snapped leaving a dance studio in preparation for her return to the spotlight.

It has been reported the star was overheard working on a routine to her 2009 smash hit Fight For This Love alongside six backing dancers.

Cheryl is set to perform at the Mighty Hoopla stage which will also see performances from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK contestants, fashion expert Gok Wan, former X Factor star Alexandra Burke and S Club Party – which consists of two members of S Club 7.

Cheryl flashed a happy smile as she left her dance studio following a gruelling nine hour rehearsal – while dressed in low-key grey jogging bottoms, a grey T-shirt, grey-jumper and a denim coat.

The star had her long, glossy hair loosely flowing around her shoulders – having recently boasted about how thick and strong her hair has become since she partnered with vitamin company Feel.

While Cheryl has endorsement deals and performances lined up, fortunes have been less kind to her older brother – who she has reportedly not spoken to “for years”.

Andrew has been photographed living in a tent in the north of England while begging for money to buy himself basics.

Cheryl has previously tried to help her brother – who has reportedly struggled with drug addiction – including offering to send him to a rehab facility at the cost of £20,000.

Speaking to The Sun last week, Andrew said: “This is what I’m f***ing living like. I’ve been begging here for more than three months and it’s something that has really broken my heart.

“I’ve got so much f***ing pride. With the family I’ve got, I shouldn’t be here. It’s horrible.

“None of them have contacted me. Even though Cheryl’s not helping me, she’s still my family.”

He added: “She probably won’t even know I’m on the streets, I don’t blame her at all. This is the lowest I’ve ever been.”

Cheryl has four brothers and sisters – with Andrew and two others, another brother named Joseph and a sister named Gillian, being from her mother, Joan Callaghan’s first marriage.

Cheryl and her youngest sibling, a brother named Gary, were the product of her mother and father’s 11-year romance, which came to an end when Cheryl was 11-years-old.

In the past, Cheryl has said she trusts only her mother in her family.

She declared following the end of her four-year-marriage to footballer Ashley Cole: “I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t trust anybody in life except my mother and my dogs. I love having her there.”
