Cheryl shares 'life changing' habit that boosted her happiness over lockdown

Cheryl has revealed how a new habit has 'changed her life' as she returns to the spotlight.

Last week, the Geordie star sparked a social media frenzy when she broke her 12 month Instagram hiatus to post a selfie of her and her team along with the defiant caption: "we back!"

The picture was liked more than 249,000 times and poured over by Cheryl' s fans, many of whom praised her for how stunning she looked.

And now, as fans hope for some new music from her, the 37-year-old has opened up about how she coped with lockdown and how taking a year-long break from social media was like one big detox.

She also shared her meditation has helped her and boosted her happiness over the past year.

She told Yahoo UK: "If you just meditate for two minutes a week, it becomes five minutes.

"It's life changing. It makes you more peaceful and happy."

As well as mediating, Call My Name chart-topper Cheryl has also been doing some yoga, with her joking: ""I've heard stretching adds an inch to your height."

Chery's interview came as her ex Liam Payne, dad to son Bear, 3, revealed that the former Girls Aloud star is "a lot more chill" these days when talking about their hopes for Bear's future.

Speaking on the Diary of a CEO podcast, former One Direction member Liam said: "'I think his mum is hoping he's gonna become some yoga person. His mum is very chill these days.

"I would never stop him but I would let him know the risks. My parents did not experience what I had. I want him to do something he enjoys doing every day."
